The Square of Infinity is an interdisciplinary art exhibition featuring the in-process works of nine practicing artists in their separate research as part of the Master of Arts in Contemporary Practice programme at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and University of Huddersfield, UK. ¥² examines the contemporary relocation and negotiation of a diverse range of disciplines and forms, from the traditional such as Batik and classical Indian Ragamala painting, to the immediate and contemporary such as the problematics in cross-cultural communications and ethics in the documentation of peoples. Featuring the works of Bronson Chan, Carrie Huang, Ella Magee, Fredi Sonderegger, M. Kamal Dollah, Noor Effendy Ibrahim, Raman Meyyappan, Subhashini Balasubramanian and Tan Ai Khim, ¥² proposes to situate research and practice at the core of art-making, where the virtues of learning and of inquiring, and with these the virtues of failing, is rigorously reevaluated.
